About this Parachute
Story
We are a year 2 (aged 6 and 7) class. We created our parachutes to link to our learning about the Arctic. The children could not believe the rate at which the icecaps were melting, and the impact this is having on polar bears.
Sustainable Actions in this Community
After discussing climate change, we made a list of ways we could be more sustainable and reduce our electricity use. We have elected a ‘light switch monitor’ to turn off our classroom lights when we are out of the room, and a ‘recycling monitor’ to sort our paper rubbish into a separate bin.
