About this Parachute
Story
I am a youth leader with the Sunrise Movement in Houston, TX. We are collaborating with local chapters of 350, US Youth Climate Strike, Fridays for Future, and This is Zero Hour to coordinate this city-wide strike. In Houston, the activism movement fighting the climate crisis is potent and energizing: we’ve been holding town halls, rallies and meetings urging for a US Democratic primary climate debate, having a few local Friday strikes, organizing youth climate film festivals, engaging with elected officials in candidate forums and lobbying meetings, and engaging with the city of Houston as our city finalizes its new Houston Climate Action Plan to reach net zero emissions by 2050 and improve city-wide sustainability.
