About this Parachute
Story
Because Chávez has been a green school for so many years, students are very aware by 5th grade the importance of caring for our planet, using sustainable living practices and understanding where their food comes from. Every choice we make matters. Being the stewards of the school garden gives students a direct connection to their food waste, composting and growing their own food. This project gave them a platform to let their voices rise in the name of our Mother Earth. -Kristin Strand, Maggie Cline and Amanda Dudley, 5th grade teachers
