About this Parachute
Story
Our Girl Scout Troop Would like to decorate free parachutes for our Next Earth Day Event in the County of Hampton South Carolina. We have planted trees, recycled items to keep them out of the LandFill, started using reusable bottles for GS activities, picked up litter on our streets and planning many other activities in our future to help save the earth. Our Troop is a multilevel troop of Daisy, Brownies, Juniors and Cadetts. We meet every Thursday on Zoom but plan on activity a month outdoors and explore nature, we have built bird house for our State park, planted trees and built a bench from recycled lumber for our Lake Warren State Park in out county. We plan to help save our earth one piece of trash at a time.
Sustainable Actions in this Community
We currently have 19 girls in our multilevel troop and are still recruiting. We also have two other troops active in our Service Area, Hampton County SC. This would be a great way to get the girls interested in Climate Change, Save our Earth Projects. Our Girl Scouts are concerned about what the climate change has done to our South Carolina State. The weather is warmer through December and colder in January, February and an Ice storm in March and May. The rivers, lakes and beaches are trashed with plastic that our wildlife continue to die from. Our Girl Scouts are concerned about pollution and the loss of trees from Wildfires. So many things are happening because people have no respect or care for our earth. We plan to share our decorated parachutes and our concern with our County and Town Government, especially the biggest event we have in Hampton County is our Hampton County Watermelon Festival.
