About this Parachute
Story
My name is Dionne Davis and I'm the K-5 Art Teacher at Hartsfield Elementary in Tallahassee. I was given a couple of the parachutes for Earth Day April 22, 2021...#RestoreOurEarth. Tuesday, April 20, my students and I began acrylic painting and using permanent markers to create images on the attached parachutes. One has an ocean theme and the other boasts the school's motto Heart & Soul. On Thursday, April 22, thanks to the wind, students had an awesome time seeing the parachutes peak. Last week was an exciting time. I explained to K-5 students that we must love and be kind to the planet just as we are to each other. If you want to send more, we would love to have so that we can draw, paint, and color animals and nature scenes, etc, etc.
