I’d like to request 2 free parachutes for the Sept. 20th, 2019, Global Climate Strike. I’m a volunteer with Citizens’ Climate Lobby, (MI-6) Kalamazoo Chapter, and we’re participating in Strike Day Events in Kalamazoo. I’m attaching the flyer about the day’s events… includes a march, music, speakers, etc… We are a non-profit group, made up of all volunteers. We have done the parachute project as part of tabling during last April Earth Day events, we used old bed sheets, so would be nice to have 2 actual parachutes to make and use for Sept 20 Strike – more fun to use at the park, easier to hold for march, etc… I’m hoping they might arrive soon, so we can have time to paint them. Sustainable Actions in this Community

Here are some pictures of the two parachutes made for the Kalamazoo, MI Climate Strike. I volunteer with the local Citizens’ Climate Lobby Chapter (MI-6), which was one of many participating organizations under the “Kalamazoo Climate Crisis Coalition.” There was a march from WMU (Western MI University) campus to downtown Kalamazoo, then events at the Arcadia Creek Park, with speakers, music, and tabling. We had a large turn out! Thanks again for providing the parachutes, I have one blank one remaining that I will donate to members of the KCCC for group art project, likely with HS and/or college students. Oh, and the Kalamazoo Valley Public Museum has expressed interest in making a display of Strike signs and the parachutes! I will keep you updated on that. Dana Mains
